SR. HIGH CAMP...4 DAYS AWAY...

We will be leaving from the church at 7am on Monday morning, July 26th. Please try and be here around 6:30am so that we can load all of the luggage and have a time of prayer together. We will be arriving at the camp around 11am and will be eating lunch at the camp soon after. We should be home around 1pm on Saturday the 31st of July. We will have the teens call their parents on the way home to let them know the exact time.

What to bring: there was a list passed out a couple of weeks ago, follow that. If you don't have a list there is one posted on the youth bulletin board next to the nursery, or look in a camp brochure.

Be Praying for great week together! Pray for great weather, great fun, great food :), and a great time around the Word of God.

*Warning* Be ready for God to work in your heart while you are at Sr. High Camp!

New youth group songs!!!

Found 3 new worship songs yesterday for our youth group that are really good! It's always fun to learn new songs! Wouldn't it be neat if we could sing one of these songs at Sr. High Camp in a couple of weeks?

By the way, are you pumped about Sr. High Camp? Make sure you vote in the poll right over there --->

Here the songs....
  1. Grace Flowing Down written by Louie Giglio
  2. May the Words of My Mouth written by Rob Hill and Tim Hughes
  3. Happy Day written by Tim Hughes

If you would like to hear these songs you can look them up online. (with your parent's permission of course) I think they are great youth group songs. We are going to give them a try tomorrow night at youth group! Do you get excited about new songs like I do?

Frog in your throat?

"300 million years from now, what will be the only thing that will matter? Will it matter how much money you made? Will it matter what kind of car you drove?...Will it matter who you took to the homecoming dance? 300 million years from now, the ONLY thing that will matter is who is in heaven and who is in hell. And if that's the only thing that will matter then, that should be one of our greatest concerns now." - Mark Cahill, One thing you can't do in heaven, pg.11.

Last night at youth group we started talking about the study we will be doing from the book called "One thing you can't do in heaven." The goal from this entire study is to give you confidence and boldness to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone you come into contact with. Maybe you have someone on your mind who you know you need to give the gospel to, but when the time comes you get a frog in your throat and become too nervous, or maybe you don't know the words to say. Maybe you just don't want them to think of you negatively. Are you going to speak up or clam up? The next time you feel the urge from the Holy Spirit to share your faith with someone remember what Christ did for you on the cross. He did that same thing for them too, they just need to hear about it.

Romans 10:13-15 & 17 - "For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. But how can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them unless they be sent? That is why the Scriptures say how beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news! So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the good news about Christ."

SR. HIGH CAMP'S-a-COMIN'!

Hey everybody! Hope you all had a good 4th of July! Did you know that Sr. High Camp is 21 days away from today (the 5th)? AAAaaahhhh!!!! Start packing! :) It should be a blast!...like it always is! We have 8 guys and 6 girls going as well as 4 sponsors! That's a lot of people! SO....we need some help getting there and back....if your parents could let us borrow a vehicle that would be fantastic! We basically need 3 BIG vehicles (vans, SUV's, etc...) If we can fit 6 people in each vehicle we will be good to go! SO...talk to your parents and ask them if we can borrow their vehicle for a week. If you aren't sure what to bring, refer to your camp brochure...it has everything you can and cannot bring. O.K. we will see everybody Wednesday night! (Lord willing)
